HEPPACs community outreach activities occur Tuesdays – Fridays and some weekends and evening hours. The goal of our outreach efforts is to increase our community’s access to harm reduction supplies, health care and basic needs. Areas include homeless encampments, community events and public locations where our target population frequents. Our RV serves as a mobile clinic providing general health services and abscess wound care for people who inject drugs.
HEPPACs newest community outreach addition is the Oakland Street Team Outreach Medical Program (Oakland STOMP); a collaborative with the Roots Community Health Center. The goal of Oakland STOMP is to increase medical services to homeless residents in the Oakland community and guide them to a medical home they will utilize. The proposed program joins Roots expertise as a primary care medical home dedicated to serving under served and marginalized populations, with HEPPACs longstanding success and trust working with homeless residents of Alameda County. Including mobile based outreach and harm reduction services.
